Critical Reflections on the Bologna Process from the Perspective of Herbert Marcuse's and Paulo Freire's Contributions
Keywords:
Critical theory, Herbert Marcuse, Paulo Freire, Bologna Process, higher educationAbstract
The present article, departing from the critical theories elaborated by Herbert Marcuse as well as Paulo Freire, the first one concerned with an overall diagnosis on what he called advanced industrial society, the second with questions surrounding the possibilities of an emancipatory education, aims to take on a critical viewpoint on some aspects of the Bologna Process. The focus was directed to the influence exercised by the labour market, assessed through the analysis of official documentation (communiqués) that orient its implementation and development, with special attention dedicated to the role taken on by the concepts of employability and lifelong learning.Downloads
