Abstract

Building on Adorno’s reflections in "Education a fter Auschwitz", this paper explores the relationships between knowledge, the consciousness of such knowledge and modern capitalist society. In order to achieve this, the paper analyzes the debates regarding the duty of memory and the musealization of remembrance, as well as the problem of instrumental rationality and its relation to evil and, finally, the relations between technique, knowledge and education.
