Abstract

This paper intends to recover the critical dimension of the concept of "culture industry" against its affirmative use or its hasty rejection. In the first place the authors argue what culture industry is not, and they analyze the false alternative analysis to this concept. Afterwards they try to expose what is culture industry and which are its central features. Finally, the last section of the paper tries to update this concept by analyzing some actual examples.
