Abstract

This paper analyses from different perspectives the concept of Phantasmagoria, not only in the warp of Critical Theory —in which is treated mostly by Walter Benjamin—, but at the beginnings of cinematography. This dimension allows glimpsing some of the discontinuities that are made in the transformations of a concept that has a special relevance in the task of thinking the conditions of possibility for a philosophy of film, as well as some of the problems of contemporary aesthetics.
