Abstract

The beginnings of 20th Century witnessed a radical change in the foundations of poetic creation. Poetry's shift of position and it's progressive lack of centrality within society had decisive effects in creation. Moreover, with the appearance and consolidation of Cultural industry, poetic practice has been usurped by false mechanisms of production. In the process of change, poetry has incorporated commercial strategies and formal approaches typical of the radio, television and mass media, that have cornered language to a secondary, subaltern position in literature.
