Sport and Society by Theodor W. Adorno
Keywords:
Theodor W. Adorno, sport and society, culture industryAbstract
This paper aims to investigate the relationships between sport and society in the work of Theodor W. Adorno. This topic is to be found in the context of a dialectic of enlightenment and in turn of two axis: its place in the scheme of mass culture and as refined form of domination on body and its corresponded suffering; as a model for contemporary society. Between the destruction of subject and the reduction of body in pure instrument, sport shows up as mimetic expression in so far it finds its critical point.Downloads
