Abstract

Adorno uses the expressions "totality" and "objective structure" as a synonym of society, although he repeatedly emphasizes that this conception of society refers to a particular type of society. The decisive point in the concept of objectivity is its objective autonomization against the subjects who produce it. In this sense, Critical Theory can be understood as an update of the critique of political economy as a specific form of theoretical re-elaboration of experienced objectivity.
