Abstract

The title of the article contains two uncommon assertions. First it asserts that Adorno’s negative dialectics amounts to a critique of the constituted relations of economic objectivity. Further, the subtitle, ‘on struggle’, opposes to the common generalized view of Critical theory as an immanent critique of philosophical concepts and social phenomena, not as a negative dialectics of social struggle. The article is divided in three sections. It first introduces negative dialects as a critique of economic objectivity. It then develops Adorno’s critique of the capitalist exchange relations. The final section explores the meaning of class in negative dialectics.
